What a little jewel of a place. It's too small, too loud, too crowded, and too wonderful a breakfast-lunch eatery. This is a Mom-and-Pop run Waffle House-style joint with '50's and '60's nostalgia vibe; and a counter with stools like you see in old movies. It's next to the Surf Rider in the Providence Shopping Center behind Kroger's. If you blink, you'll miss it. The waitresses were awesome. Diner employees full of Southern charm. Our coffee cups and water glasses were never empty. If you want très chic, this place ain't got it. The food is basic no frills comfort food served quickly with a smile. Try the eggs benedict. The eggs cooked perfectly, tasty Hollandaise sauce, and creamy grits. A winner. My wife had the pancake breakfast. Two gorgeous covered-the-plate fluffy flapjacks with the rest of her breakfast on the side. She couldn't finish it. We'll be back for lunch to try some of their yummy-looking burgers on the menu.

This little shiny diner may not look like much on the outside but the inside is a transport back in time with hot, impeccable food and friendly service!

Just like the name says, this is what I would call a classic diner. We happened to be in Virginia Beach for a wedding and wanted to grab something 'good' for breakfast before catching our flight home. Classic Diner fit the bill very well! (Thank you Yelpers.) The service as very good in a "local/folksy" sort of way. The food was very good in a local/southern style sort of way and the portions were good -- significant but not overwhelming. I haven't had Creamed Chipped Beef over a Biscuit since attending college in Oklahoma many moons ago. And my better half felt her veggie omelette was very good, too, if not very southern The decor/setting? 'Classic diner' all the way. I'm not sure how often we'll find ourselves in Virginia Beach, but if we ever are and happing to be looking for a solid breakfast, this is where we'll end up.

Such a hidden gem! It gives very much mom and pop vibes. As soon as we arrived, we knew the food was going to be fire. We walked in, were warmly greeted, and sat quickly. Our server was very welcoming and prompt. The food was delicious. The portions were large so you will leave full and satisfied!!

I've had many items on their menu, primarily breakfast items, and everything is delicious. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant itself is a true diner, a little tight but so friendly I don't care. Give it a try.

This small family business is always busy. The owner and staff are all personable and work hard. I have eaten here several times and the food has always been hot and delicious. I tried the Greek 2 egg omelette (you have a choice of a 2 eggs or 3 eggs). It was so tasty. I chose home fries and cinnamon toast for my sides. The home fries were delicious as was the toast. Plus our server asked me if it was ok if they buttered the toast. I liked the fact that she asked. The prices are very reasonable.inwill be back soon.

I had a great breakfast experience, and had no idea that this no frills place existed. A nice little diner with great food and awesome service. My waitress was great, but it seems like the staff actually enjoy working with each other, which elevated my experience at the diner. For my dining pleasure, I went with the country omelette, and it was top notch. I definitely see myself returning to Classic Diner to satisfy my breakfast cravings.

Classic Diner - oh YES it is! This is our second thine eating here and both trips were fantastic. This is not Michelin star food, this is just good diner food done really really well. My measure of any diner or breakfast place is always scrambled eggs. You'd be pretty surprised how many places mess this simple staple up. Not Classic Diner though. Perfectly cooked! The grits are just as yummy as they were on our first trip. They know how to do grits here! But here's the thing that says it all for me, and this seems small, but it's the English muffins. So many places slice them. English muffins are not meant to be sliced! Grrr. Classic Diner knows this and splits them. I mean seriously where else is the butter supposed to go if not in the "nooks and crannies?" Hubby had a cheesesteak on this trip and loved it. It is sliced thin like steak ums, but unlike some places, this was cooked really well (instead of over cooked). The bread was excellent as well! The staff is super friendly - every single one of them. Trust, we will definitely be back again!
